  1. What, you mean they've unintentionally driven people to more economic use of the product for environmental reasons by elevating oil prices? I don't think so. If the US (and maybe Russia) have by now a surplus of oil reserve, I believe the elevation of oil prices are intentionally meant to drive OPEC countries to increase oil supplies, which will eventually leave those countries in a serious shortage within a relatively short time, when it is very likely that the US will have sole control of the world market, possessing the bigger oil reserve. Russia may come second, probably with a slower oil extraction industry. Remember the US is now laying hand on regions in the world that are rich with all sorts of minerals and crude oil, whose countries lack the funds and the technology to make full use of, and so, the US is the most likely to make the bigger use of it all. And don't forget, that George W. Bush is one of America's oil tycoons and can hardly be unconcerned with what's going on in the world oil market.

I'm not an economic expert or strategist, but by the looks of things, such a scenario seems quite plausible, don't you think?

  2. wow what a waste of a question.......

  3. How do you explain the rest of the world having the same problem?  Does Bush control their gas prices too?

Gas prices started with increased demand and the same supply.  It turns out that India and China want cars too.  Now that some of them have enough money they started buying them.  Considering that combined they have about 1/3 of the worlds population it doesn't take many to have a huge effect on the prices.

DVDA - China is the 2nd largest car market behind the US.  Even now its going to take a few years for them to pass us.

  4. No.  The Bush Administration wants to pursue drilling oil on our own turf, ex.  Anwar, which would lower our oil importation from foreign countries.  Read over that article you linked with your question again.  Countries with big industry advances are one of the reasons oil has increased in price.  China for example is now the world's largest car market and is putting on average 25,000 addition cars on the road every day.

  5. Don't look at George......Look at the people like Bill Clinton who voted down drilling in the Anwar.

Look to the envirion(mental)ists who fought any drilling in the U.S. for the last 30 years.

That's your answer.....And it's time to stop pointing a finger and deal with it.

  6. Since it is the democratic congress that is stopping the drilling for oil, not only off shore, but also in ANWAR, forcing us to depend on OPEC for the majority of our oil supply.

Why do people tend to blame a President that has not been able get any bills passed to help the economy for the past 3 years?

When our government stops playing politics and starts working for the good of the country, then we will see an end to the recession.
