So uk how if u go to another country or another part of your own country theres a different time zone than the one u started in? ok could that be considered time traveling in a really weird sort of way?

i mean think about it. Let's say where u live its 5:00 am. Then u hope on a plane to somewhere where it's six hours ahead. Back where u live it's six hours behind and it hasn't hit the time where u are at the current moment yet. The peole uk back where u live haven't experienced let's say 12:00 pm yet but i have. your in the future of their time.

lol does that make sense?

  1. No...to both questions actually.

Although theoretically, since you are travelling faster than the people on the surface of the Earth, you will experience time at a different rate. (The space shuttle and ISS have to correct their clocks every few hours or the few milliseconds lost each orbit would eventually add up.) However, you'd never know that after a three to four hour flight that your personal timeframe was 1 billionth of a second per day different. Anywhere under LEO (Low Earth Orbit), time passage is considered to be identical, since the accumulated time differential will never essentially be observable.

The only difference in your current location on the face of the globe is that you are six hours close to the terminator, and therefor, the start or end of a "day." Where you to turn around and fly back, you would return to your friends, whom had experienced the same duration of time as you, just at a "stationary" local. In short, if you left at 12 noon, you would return at 12 midnight, and it would be midnight for you AND your friends.

The "experiment" you are describing would only work if you were moving at a significant percentage of "c." If you were to move radially out from the Earth at light speed, time would (theoretically) essentially stop from your point of view. Were you to travel outbound for two days and then immediately turn around and fly back  and see your friends 4 personal days after last seeing them, they would be something like eight days older, than you.

    Good Luck!
