I put a piece of paper into a VCR, but the VCR has been shut off (but still plugged in) for about a year now. Could this catch on fire?

  1. i wouldnt worry about it but unplug it and dont use it just in case

  2. I guess it is possible, especially if it has a clock on it that stays on when the power is off. Better safe than sorry unplug it, you can't use it anyway.

  3. A VCR doesn't generate nearly enough heat to ignite a piece of paper. If it did, then all of your VHS tapes would melt.

If you unplug the VCR, then you'll be completely safe (if you're worried about it catching on fire due to a short circuit or something)

  4. Number one why do you have it pluged in ?Unplug it, nverr take chances on your life or others .And then take it to some one who fixes VCRs.Just use common sence.
