  1. There is nothing wrong about working in fast food when you are young. Don't worry and don't sweat. Having a job is a good thing.

I worked at KFC when I was in high school to pay for my car. It was great.

  2. dont do it.... get a job somewhere that is at least slightly ethical and that you can feel proud to work at.  That way you'll save the money and feel good about what you are doing at the same time.  (it'll make your trip more enjoyable too).

  3. There is nothing wrong in trying it.  If you don't like it, just quit, and you are not any worse off.  On the other hand, you may just like it - you never know./

  4. Just try it, but based on how you sound you most likely can't handle the job.  Sounds like you would cave under the pressure and demand required in the food industry.

Tim Hortons would have been a bit trickier since McDonalds since it seems to be a smaller work environment, but just try it.  I worked at a local restaurant for 3+ years (Dish/bus, prep, buffet manager, line cook, wedding assistant, ect) and did about everything there.  Words of advice to advance: be on time, work smart (notice I don't say work hard, if you can work smart you can get by), tolerate the idiots (to an extent), and do not cut corners.  (sanitation for example, NEVER COMPROMISE FOOD SAFETY!).

Give the job a try, if it doesn't work for you, try a smaller local or even a commercial chain (applebees or something) if they'll hire you.  There might be some smaller clothing stores which may hire, but food service is by far the largest out there for your age.

  5. Try the job ... if you can't handle it , you can always quit ... but you'll never know if you don't try.

  6. Why are you stressing before you even try?  Go to orientation (you get paid to listen to them talk).  Take each day at a time.  If it becomes stressful, then quit.  You can only gain a few bucks and some experience.  And while you are at it....talk to your parents about getting some professional help if you can't seem to shake the anxiety.

  7. why would you apply for a job if you believe it would stress you out... i am not seeing how a mcdonalds job could stress you out but apparently for you it could... you better explain to them that you don't feel you can do the job at ths time instead of not showing up...

apply for a job where you believe you will be able to do your best or at least be comfortable, not stressed out...

  8. I think its a starting point.   It always builds your resume and work history.  Employers like to see how you can communicate with people.  You have to start some where.   One of my friends is working at Mcdonalds to pay for school.  I am with the others try it out.  Alot of the work enviroment depends on the manager.  I would say to ask yourself how you feel about the person that interviewed you...and about the staff you met(if you have). Those gut feelings go a long way.  If you start having anxiety attacks and are absolutely miserable I would say its not worth it.  If you just hate working in the food industry you could try some where like Target.   I worked there when I was 17 and it wasn't to bad.  Hope this helps.
