Could this russia-georgia conflict lead to a world war?

okay i know this might be asked alot but could it im just curious could it turn into a world war?

Actually, this could spiral out of control fairly quickly.  No matter what the Russians say, this conflict is about oil.  And more specifically, control over oil to The West.  

You see, Ossetia has a very important port and critical oil pipelines that travel to western ports in Turkey and into the Middle East.  Russia really looks to control these and is using its argument with Georgia as an excuse for aggression to reestablish world dominance through oil control.

Mark me, Russia will march onto Armenia and Azerbaijan next while the world cries foul! but does nothing.  America is bankrupt and bogged down in two wars; Europe is too drunk on nearly four generations of perfect peace to risk a war; NATO doesn't have a sack anymore; and Iran would welcome Russia with open arms for an eventual frontal assault on the Mideast.

No. As Russian I answer, that wars (especially world scale) are needed only by idiots.

We have a sentence, that "Bad peace is much better than good war".

Only need to stop bloodlust maniacs like Saakashvili from attacking civilians and peacekeepres. From Your, American side You can also stop him.

Once one very wise man said that he don't know which will be Third World War, but he knows, which will be Fourth (if will be) - with stone axes and mauls.

Any conflict between nations can lead to a World War depending upon what nations make significance of it.  Why concern yourself?  There are many other battles and problems already happening which could escalate into world wars: Darfur, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Iran, etc...  Sounder minds will usually take over during diplomacy between Russia and Georgia.  If not, it will lead to something else...

Did we help the Czechs and Hungarians during their calls for help against the Russians?  No, and we won't help the Georgians either.  Now if it was Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Iraq, with oil involved, then I'd be worried.
