  1. In modern physics space is considered as (at least) 4 dimensional, time being one of its dimensions. It is not a simple Euclidean space we are used to in everyday life though.

So as far as scientific theories go, yes time is another dimension.

  2. It is a dimension. Einstein established this with his Special Theory of Relativity. We live in a universe of three spatial dimension - up/down; left/right; forward/backward - and one of time, making four dimensions. Einstein called this "spacetime" to emphasise that space and time are part of the same thing.

  3. no its what makes everything tick in accordance with it

  4. Time is considered by scientists as the 4th dimension.

A new string theory postulates there are 11 dimensions. What this means is that there are alternate realities, and in these realities there are copies of you, which may be identical or slightly/radically different.

  5. ... You mean "dimensions" don't you ?

Changing our picture of time from a line to a plane (one to two dimensions) means that the path between the past and future could loop back on itself, allowing you to travel back and forwards in time and allowing the famous grandfather paradox, where you could go back and kill your grandfather before your mother was born, thereby preventing your own birth.

The thing is, the symmetry and harmony of viewing time as a plane breaks down unless a fourth spatial dimension is added to the familiar three, making a total of six:  4 spatial, and 2 temporal dimensions.

The familiar four dimensional world we see around us may just be a "shadow" of the six-dimensional reality, just as a hand makes many different shadows on a wall when lit from different angles.  More evidence for his theory could emerge next year, when particles are smashed together in CERN's Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, Switzerland to create hitherto unseen "supersymmetric" particles.

    It's complicated...

  6. the can use to define a point moreover cordination

  7. Yes, time is another dimension.  See here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacetime

"No because man invented the clock and man did not invent another dimension."

A clock is not time, it's a device for measuring time, just like a ruler is a device for measuring distance.  And a second is not time, it's a unit of measurement of time just like an inch is a unit of measurement for distance.

Humans invented measuring devices and standardized units of measurement.  Humans did not invent distance or time.

And really, if you think about that, it makes it all the more clear that time is a dimension.  We measure it in just the same way that we measure distance.

  8. The fourth dimension is often identified with "time" in physics, and as such is used to explain the non-Euclidean space-time used in Einstein's theories of special relativity and general relativity. So, technically, time is its own dimension. The three dimensions are commonly called length, width, and depth (or height), although any three mutually perpendicular directions can serve as the three dimensions with time being considered the 4th.

  9. time and can, and is another dimension. our universe has four dimensions (although others exist in theory).

    1. length

    2. width

    3. depth

    4. time

  10. Yes, but it depends

  11. Yes time is an another dimension. Its the fourth dimension. Albert Einstein discovered this fact. According to string theory there are 11 dimensions.

  12. The three obvious dimensions length, width and height are competed by the fourth: time.

Without it, impossible to measure speed. Mathematicians are way beyond the 20th dimension in their theoretical models. Anyone care to name the 5th dimension?

  13. what kind of dimension? dimension has multiple meanings.

  14. Clocks are not a dimension, time is a dimension, clocks measures time as a ruler measures space.

  15. Time is actually the fourth dimension of the universe.

You can strip two dimensions from space but if time is eliminated space will go out of existence.

  16. No because man invented the clock and man did not invent another dimension.
