I have tried sparknotes, pinkmonkey, cliffnotes, and gradesaver but NONE of them have it. I need the last hundred or so pages. Please help me. It is by Susan Beth Pfeffer, if that helps at all. Give as much detail as u can without it taking more than ten or so minutes to read.

thank you

  1. maybe you can read it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_As_We_...  or at www.bookrags.com/Susan_Beth_Pfeffer

  2. a meteor hits the moon and knocks it closer to the earth. This messes up a lot of satellites (so the electricity kinda breaks,) and the tides, (so there's lots of flooding and storms) it also makes lots of volcanoes and earthquakes. the main character is called miranda (she has an older and a younger bro) miranda's mom makes them go to the store and buy lots of food and stuff. winter comes, it gets really really cold, and miranda's mom and bros get sick, she helps them get better. when they're better she realizes they're running out of food, so she goes to town to kill herself but finds people handing out food. they get lots of food, the electricity comes back, and basically it's almost normal again. (there's also stuff abou her dad and step mom who go to texas, a couple of her friends, and some old lady who eventually dies)

  3. I would answer you, but you would be missing out on a really great book. We read it for a summer reading program and everyone in the family loved it. Have you tried to open the book itself and just read it?

The moon gets hit by a meteor and life as we knew it would never be the same. How would a family survive when there was no food or water? No electricity? Not much of anything except each other and a dear neighbor? I think that if you read the book you would ask yourself what you might do in those circumstances and it would help you to realize that you have so much more than you can appreciate. If you didn't have a computer you would be reading the book right now for one thing. It's not like you have to read War and Peace or something. This is easy reading. Go for it!

  4. The last 100 pages aren't really different from the rest of the book.

It is just more starving and stuff.

I don't know if you got to the part where the old lady (i forgot her name) dies.

&& the end is a bummer.

All that happens is things start to get better.

  5. I hope that you will not use my answer to do a book report or something.  But anyhow, here it is ---->

As the world continues to plunge into despair, food becomes scarcer, and survival becomes nearly impossible.  People die every day and it becomes harder for Miranda to save her family.  Her two brothers, her mother, and the neighbor next door who doesn't make it have a limited number of supplies to work with.  The weather turns deadly cold.  Miranda and Matt learn how to ski, and try to work up some muscle, but due to lack of food, they are on the verge of starvation.  Soon only Miranda isn't sick, and she must find help and refuge if she is to save her family.  She risks her life, almost dies looking for help, and eventually discovers that piece by piece, the world was starting to put itself to rights.  Food was being given out by bags to families who needed it.  Her family received the help they needed, and got ready to fight this global plunge through to the end.
