With all the areas that are just drowning with flood like waters, why can't we get some of that water curved out in the land to move it down to the desert south west? I'm sure they would be happy to get some relief somehow.

  1. It can & has been, but it takes major construction projects.

(Check out the 'water wars' about the West Coast water supply circa 1920 -30.)

Most of the south west is higher than the more easterly

areas where there's a temporary surplus.

The energy costs alone are prohibitive.

(Water is heavy in large amounts y'know.)

  2. when you come up with a way to get the flood waters from Iowa, Wisconsin, Southern Indiana and any other flooded Midwestern state...I'm sure they will let the desert south west have every drop...but...its impossible to carve out the land just for water that won't be around for awhile, and besides that, does the desert south west really want raw sewage filled water???
