I'm sick of negativity. It's taking over the world.... But today I realised that people are nice, in many ways, all the time. It's just we always focus on the negative.

Can we all just be nice please?

  1. There are many positive and nice people, but unfortunately there will be always negativity. We have the option to focus on the people that are good for us, that make us feel better, not worse.

I know that Yahoo, can be so extremely negative sometimes, it attracts a lot of people with a lot of anger, that come here to bash at others, to insult, to bully. But there are other contributors that are wonderful, intelligent, kind and open minded. Focus on those people, the ones that make a difference, the ones that make you smile or think in a positive way.

By the way, you are one of those positive and kind spirits, and I thank you for that!

    :-)

Good for you clvr1001! Yes, most people ARE nice, most of the time.

And people do really good things for one another, all the time, too.

Just recently I took my parents for a cup of coffee in Burwood (a suburb in Sydney, Australia).

This mightn't sound very exciting, but when you are housebound, a cup of coffee ANYWHERE bu the living room is big stuff.

Anyway, when we walked into the cafe my father, who has mobility problems, slipped and fell.

Immediately, two young men, both the EXACT picture one sees on tv shows as 'thugs' and 'Gen Y' troublemakers, leapt to their feet, and ran over to help us lift Dad, find a secure chair for him and get him a drink of water.

Once we had him seated, my mother and I approached the young fellows to thank them, and they waved us away, saying 'no worries'.

After we ordered our coffee and had sat for a while, I went to the counter to pay, only to find the young fellas had paid OUR bill too, before they left the cafe, completely anonymously and without fuss.

There are a lot of good people in the world, and even when we disagree with others, it is good to remind ourselves the nice ones are out there!

    Cheers :-)
