  1. no you can't. go around your neighborhood and mow lawns, offer a pet sitting or dogwalking service. I know a girl that makes 40$ a day walking and sitting pets. (feeding them, checking on them , walking them. ) good luck

  2. I think you need to be 16.

  3. If its your family's buisness, probably. If not, then probably not.

  4. fedral law states that you must be 15 to work unless it is a family business

  5. NO!  U have to be as old as 16, 17, or even older.

  7. well I think you could in some stores...... if you have experience, but i think that to be that young you need to get a working liscence, and idk if you are old enough at 13 to get one

  8. stick to babysitting for now, hon.

  9. no, you cant. i think at min, you must be 14 but stores really dont hire that young because of the labor laws....how you can only work so many hours (4 i think) without a 4 hour break. thats how it is in florida at least

  10. i'm pretty. sure you have to be 15 to get a job. unless it's like a family owned bussiness

  11. generally NO.....................

but there are exceptions such as:

the business is owned or operated by your parents.

the business is NOT covered by federal law (FLSA), which many small businesses are not,

    AND

the state laws do not cover it as well, which a very few are not covered.

you are enrolled in a bona fide educational program.

in many states child labor laws may be waived by a  court with proper jurisdiction.

SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO AT 13:

You can deliver, or sell at a street stand, newspapers and periodicals (selling subscriptions is not allowed)

You can work as an actor or performer in motion pictures, television, theater or radio.

You can work in a business solely owned or operated by your parents.

You can work on a farm owned or operated by your parents.

In most states You can caddy at a public course.

When school is out of session you can work on a private farm picking and selling fruits and vegetables.

(most agriculture employment falls under a different set of laws not part of FLSA and in some states allows agricultural employment as young as 10)

you always have the options of casual labor(working for an individual):

You can mow lawns and other yard work(as casual labor only)

You can clean houses(as casual labor only)

You can wash cars(as casual labor only)

You can Tutor(as casual labor only)

You can work as a pet-sitter/dog-walker(as casual labor only)

You can assist the elderly.(as casual labor only)

You can work as a baby-sitter.(as casual labor only and some states do restrict the age for baby-sitting)

just to name a few ideas............................

  12. you could try.

but the legal age for working in the US is 14, and that's with a working permit.

im sure there are some exceptions.

  13. not if you are handling products like tobacco and alcohol

  14. At that age, my guess is that you could work a limited number of hours per week . . . perhaps around 20.  It would certainly have to be less than 40.
