As self defense, yeah of course. Pool cue butt, tire iron, rolled up magazine also can be used insted of a stick

escrima is made as a martial art which you learn to uses to fight holding a weapon or not but they generally use straight weapons so useing an expandable baton will work fine.

Of course.  I've even seen extendabatons marketed for this very purpose.

I think you can, Ive seen it done with knives and stick and even bare hands, so I dont see why not.
