  1. Czar Nicholas was the autocratic ruler or Russia., before the country became communist. He was ignorant of the people's views and there was a lot of poverty. He was not very popular with the lower working classes and peasants, which made up most of the Russian population. After Bloody Sunday in 1905, there was a second successful revolution led by Lenin in 1917, assisted by the help of his trusted friend and Bolshevik (he was formerly a Menshevik), Trotsky. The Bolsheviks were a group of extreme revolutionaries who refused to co-operate with any other group. After the Bolshevik Revolution, Lenin consolidated power and introduced communism, a form of extreme left-wing socialism that is against the principles of capitalism. Communism is based on the principles of Karl Marx, who inspired Lenin when he was a young revolutionary. Russia became a one-party state. After Lenin's death, Stalin became the leader of the new soviet state, and led first of many five-year plans to improve Russia's economy.

I couldn't fit in Pravda, because I'm unsure of what it is- I didn't study it in history.

    Hope that helps.

    :)
