The Hanson brothers all were home-schooled.

Tim Tebow, won the Heisman trophy this year and was homeschooled until college.  

Personally, I don't see why it is important to know famous people who were homeschooled - what is the point??

It shouldn't really matter if there are famous, ergo, successful people who homeschool but it does.

There are so many detractors from the home education movement who believe we are narrow minded and illiterate.

The media is constantly portraying home educators in a negative light (see "Cletus" on the TV program the Simpsons)

I think it is essential for our image to be able to have well known figures as an example of successful home education.

It shouldn't matter, but it does.  Home educators should support each other.    

If we are organized and not viewed by the general public (and therefore, governments) as nut jobs but as serious educators, we could benefit by  increased funding. (we pay school taxes-we should have access to those funds)

We would also not have the need to justify our choice against all the trolls and bashers.  In the area where I live the government has pondered outlawing homeschooling entirely.

We do need a good, positive image.  Most of us work at that every day, just by doing our best with our kids.

I take no offense at your question.  Sorry I can't add to your list, but I enjoyed reading it.

The Five Browns were homeshooled.  They're traveling pianists that attended Julliard.  I've seen them during a special performance for students - they are amazing.

I'm not sure if you mentioned her as I forget the actress's name, but the girl who plays Lucy in Across the Universe (recent beatles-themed musical) was homeschooled.
