The Brewers rotation is awesome right now, but could you imagine if Gallardo was healthy, would they have the hands down best rotation in all of baseball?

  1. They would have the best rotation in baseball, sure, but, their relief pitching is awful. I like Shouse and Torres but neither one of them is exactly overpowering. Mota is awful. Riske is bad also. Gagne hasn't panned out the way people had hoped, either. Still a lot of questions on that Brewers pitching staff.

  2. To be completely honest, if we had Gallardo, we probably wouldn't have Sabathia right now. Think about it. If our rotation had Gallardo, stupid Yost wouldn't see any problem, and wouldn't tell Melvin to pursue a top talent pitcher. Now maybe if Gallardo surprises us and comes back early..... There would be no competition with four aces in one rotation.

  3. Probably so, but if Gallardo was healthy, they wouldn't have traded for C.C.

  4. If Gallardo were healthy, I don't think the Brewers would have traded for Sabathia. Gallardo would have probably added a few wins to their first half and they could be leading the division right now. If they were, they wouldn't feel the need to trade a top 10 prospect (LaPorta) for a rental. They would probably trade for a mid-rotation starter.

  5. Right now the Brewers, as a team, are about in the middle of the pack in MLB as far as their pitching is concerned.  With a team ERA of 3.98 and a WHIP of 1.36 they rank 12th in MLB behind such teams as the A's, White Sox, Jays, Diamondbacks, and even the Cubs.  Gallardo would have lowered those numbers slightly and Sabathia will help but not to the point where their pitching would rival the best in MLB.
