  1. Well it rains a lot.

I live in Ayrshire where it can actually be alright sometimes but when I go on holiday to places like Fort William, Aviemore, Glen Nevis & Glen Coe etc. it rains like nothing else. (Probably just follows me!). I suppose it just depends on your luck.

I go to Glasgow to shop and the weather is normally alright. Not normally really sunny or anything but still fairly dry. Before you go try checking the weather forecast so you can try and get a nice day.

Oh and don't prosume that the weather is sunny and warm in summer and cold and wet in Winter because Scotland doesn't work that way. You can get all four sesons in the same day!

  2. I was in Scotland in October a few years ago. The weather was warm and sunny. That was in the Clyde Valley, Ayrshire & the Isle of Arran. Having said that, it can be cold and wet, but the western side have the better chance for fine weather. It really depends on how lucky you are.

  3. I am here right now and it is 15 degrees and raining.  it does rain a lot but on the other hand, you can get "four seasons in one day" as the song goes!

October is normally cold and drier than some other months but pack for wetness!
