Could you please explain to me how reversals occur and how magnetic fields change due to ice caps melting?

Have you read anywhere that the magnetic field has changed due to our current situation of ice caps melting. If no such information, it would be good for you to state what our present situation is and how it could get worse from an environmental perspective.

Please quick!

  1. God, I swear there's someone in middle school making all this up. The magnetic field has reversed many times in the past and it will again and it's because of molten metal flow in the earth's core. The polar caps don't have one thing to do with it.

  2. You are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 13!

The melting of polar ice is not causing magnetic field reversal! There is just no way I can imagine that it would even be possible for melting ice to cause a reversal, and no scientist I have heard about is saying the two changes are connected in any way.
