There we stood in what some considered the most beautiful square in the world. It certainly looked like the largest! We could not help noticing the Egyptian obelisk flanked by sparkling fountains. Looking in one direction, we could see a magnificent arch at the end of a wide tree-lined avenue. In the opposite direction, there was a park that looked as though it might have belonged to a king. When we reached the end of the park, we arrived in front of an imposing structure, an immense palace, now one of the richest art museums in the world.
