Maybe the driver's name?? Coz i tried searching for the word but there's no meaning for it...

Those jeepneys may have a string running from the back to the front of the jeep usually attached to a bell or something to get the driver's attention. They ask passengers to pull on this string( hatak(tug) u(you) so they will be alerted when someone wants to get off and they will stop to let the person get off(hinto(stop) me(as in English me). Get it?
