I want to take my mom out for her birthday to a great restaurant in York (England). I would ideally want a seafood or a mexican restaurant. I would like it to be special. Could you please help me?

Nothing specifically seafood based and you don't give a price guide but have a look at the following.

Meltons Too - 25  Walmgate. Bistro style with an eclectic menu.

The Tasting Room - Near the minster, very tasty food.

31 Castlegate - Impressive georgian house, another wide ranging menu.

All of these are recommended by Michelin.

If u like Italian food there's a nice one called

La Vecchia Scuola - The old school.

I'm not a big fan of Italian food but when i went it was really nice. service was great, atmosphere was good. Nice little garden outside.

Also, Betty's tea rooms do delicous cakes and desserts u might like to try! Well known in York!
