  1. clothes you want to wear when you leave.panties.what you need to bathe with.baies first outfit.blankets for baby.nursing pads if breastfeeding.

  2. I have 2kids and have just packed my hospital bag for my 3rd (I'm approx 30wks). Pack-

5-6 singlets, 3-4 jumpsuits (more if you're due in the colder months), BABY-Heaps of nappies and wipes, 2 warm baby sized blankets, 4 muslin wraps (cotton baby blankets), bottles and formula (if you choose not to breast feed). FOR YOU- several pairs underwear, lots of sanitary pads (expect to use up to 1/hr, any more and you're losing too much blood), few sets of clothes (baggy, it's more comfortable and it's quite possible that you wont immediately return to your pre-pregnancy size), some snack foods (dried fruit, nuts, lollies, etc), a book/magazine (although you'll be tired, you may still get bored), breast pads, money (for payphone)

  3. some hospitals supply some stuff for newborns others make you bring your own so check with your hospital first- if you have to pack for bub as well- you'll need at least 2 cotton blankets, cotton mittens, socks, cotton beanie, 3-4 baby grow outfits (the all in one suits)and a few singlets as well as nappies and wipes. for yourself, take about 4 packs of maternity pads, underwear that's comfortable, 2 loose fitting pants ( i liked 3/4 capri cotton lycra pants), a few shirts that are loose fitting, 2-3 maternity bras, slippers and slip on shoes, dressing gown, change for phone, magazines and books for you to read, and 2- 3 really comfy pyjama's. how much you need depends on how long you'll be in there for and that will depend on how your labour or Cesarean went. (c-sect usually 4 days, uncomplicated natural birth up to 48 hours if not earlier)

  4. Take what ever makes you feel at home and relaxed. There will be a of things going on in your room so take things like pictures that make you feel calm.also stuff like a robe, slippers,I took my own gown because the hospital ones are not that fashionable and just cuz ya had a baby don't mean you lose your since of fashion lol.I also took some lip gloss because your lips can get dry.

For the baby take their special outfit to go home in some cameras maybe a outfit for them to wear in the hospital and any other little thing you want.Nothing is to silly.

  5. I have 2 small bags rather then 1.

    My delivery bag contains:

    I-pod

    massage oil

    lip balm

    hair band

    old t-shirt

    nappies

    vest

    sleep suit

    hat

    scratch mitts.

    My hospital bag has:

    Underwear

    Nursing bras

    breast pads

    maternity pads

    toiletries

    night gown

    slippers

    baby wipes

    going home clothes.

    going home outfit for baby

  6. for you= dressing gown pj's or nightie, slippers or slip on's,clothes to wear home, shower bag, soap, washer etc

baby= nappies clothes to come home in, things to wear in hospital, singlets, booties, nighties, blankets or rug to come home in, you can take it from here.

  7. I packed way too much stuff.  They provide most everything you need.  You should pack clothing, hairbrush, makeup (with visitors you may want to have it just in case) , etc for you.  For baby just take an outfit to come home in and maybe a few sleepers to wear there (I liked having him in his own clothes).  Your camera.  Some people take their breast pump so the consultant can show you how to use it but I found mine pretty self-explanatory.  You may want to take baby nail clippers incase your baby is born with long nails,  the hospitals dont have them.

    They provide:

diapers and wipes, formula if you use it.  diaper cream if needed. breast cream for breast feeding moms, pads for mommies and disposable underwear.  etc

  8. I took a lot of stuff that I didn't even use, so this time I'm only taking a change of cloths (undies, pads, loose pants and shirt) and a book that I most likely wont even read.

If you want to bathe there, take a towel and bath stuffs, I just wanted to leave ASAP.

  9. Bring comfy clothes for yourself and your partner. Make sure there is a a couple of outfits in case you may need to stay longer.

Most hospitals do provide diapers and wipes. But be sure to bring your own in case you prefer a certain kind.

Bring a couple of outfits for the baby.

Bring money and loose change. Let's face it, hospital food isn't gourmet. You may want to bring some money in case you feel like ordering a pizza or take-out. The loose change is for the vending machines for either your partner or yourself.

Do not forget the car seat!!! Most hospitals will NOT let you leave the hospital unless you have  a car seat!

Some magazines or a book. Although, having your baby is enough to keep you preoccupied, they do take the baby out of the room to do testing and whatnot to make sure the baby is healthy. On top of that, the baby sleeps a lot. So be sure to bring something to keep yourself relaxed.

Soft music is a preference for labor. They also say the scent of lavender during labor helps to calm and relax her.

Do not forget toiletries!!! Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste, hair brush, hair ties, maybe a little makeup (you will have a lot of visitors coming in!)

Sanitary napkins!!! The hospital does provide them. BUT they aren't exactly very comfortable. Bring a few of your own. The kind that are long and you use overnight. After a vaginal birth, you do bleed a lot more than a normal period.

You may want to bring your own pillow. Some people are just more comfortable using their own things.

SLIPPERS!! You may have to do a lot of walking during labor. Slippers are great!!

If you are breastfeeding: bring some ointment for nipples, they may get chapped or sore.

If you are bottlefeeding: you may want to bring a bottle. Most moms choose the same brand to use with their newborn as to not confuse them and feeding them is much easier! You cannot pick and choose what kind of bottle or nipple you would like to use.

If you plan on using a nuk, bring your own. Some hospitals refuse to provide one.

A calling card or cellphone along with a list a people you or your partner may want to contact. I highly reccomend doing a phone tree.

A baby blanket. Hospitals do provide these. But I never liked them.

A CAMERA!!!! You will want to take pictures of your new beautiful little one!!

    can't think of anything else!
