I want to know if that amount is enough to live in Antwerp, considering renting a studio or living with roommates, daily necessities (food, etc), commute.

  1. UM, if you don't eat.

Its a small amount but if your good at making and keeping to budget then you can make it work for you.

Personally I wouldn't be able to, my travel alone would take up half of that and then rent the other half.. It would be hard.

  2. In Belgium the social security gives an existence minimuum of around 900 Euros a month so figure it out from there ...

  3. I agree with my fellow countrymen(women). In general it is too little. If you have the intention to seek a job, then you will able to give it a try.

  4. With 750 Eur a month you can't survive anywhere in Belgium.

Accommodation and food are very expensive.

  5. No, it isn't possible.

I know, lots of people have to manage on this amount or on a lower amount but their lifestyle is really, REALLY cramped even when sharing a tiny place with someone else. Co-renting is done in cities like Antwerp as they have a big students' population.

As long as you are very, very careful while using water, gaz and electricity you could manage as these amenities are not that expensive.

Also, food is - in general - quite expensive in Belgium although you can always shop in the very cheap chainstores like Aldi, Liddle or Colruyt which is a bit more expensive, etc... but it is really going to be hard on you to live on this amount. But, like everything in life, if you have to then you probably will manage although you may not be able to eat proper healthy food on a regular basis.

Remain positive, you may still find a nice little jewel of a studio at a reasonable price (rent & amenities all included) not too far from your job.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Sorry to disapoint you, honey, but you can't live DECENTLY with €750 anywhere in Europe. You need at least €1500 , or share the studio with one or two friends. And living with roommates is like h**l, you know...You need at least your personal room, which you can't have in a studio

  7. Sure.

your biggest cost will be accommodation. - your best option is  to share. check out http://www.kotspotting.be there you will find a room from 285 euro.

you can walk to most places in town and there is a lot of free stuff to do ( some museums are free on the last wednesday of each month )

if your a student there are lots of discounts. and if you can eat pretty well at student cafeterias.
