  1. If you do a lot of research on both sides of the debate you will realize, as I did, that the 'Global Warming' side has very little scientific research or evidence to support it.  The scientific facts actually contradict what most Global warming fear mongers are spreading.  The fact is it is a very profitable subject if you sell it right (see Al Gore @ $125,000 per speaking engagement)  It has way more to do with Economy, than enviroment.  You can help by educationg yourself on the facts and informing others before it costs us all in transfer payments and carbon taxes.

  2. It is mainly assumed that humans produce to much CO2 which stops heat leaving the atmosphere as easily. If it is true, then the only way to stop global warming is to reduce the CO2 which would require us to stop burning all fossil fuels.

It is easier said than done as we are hugely dependant on fossil fuels for transport and electricity.

Still it hasn't been completely proven that humans are the blame of the increase in CO2 levels and the increase in temperature.

  3. you cant help it!!!

    Its all a big lie

In the last few years the world has actually cooled down

  4. A basic explanation would be:

More Carbon Dioxide emmisions are being produced by cars, energy sources etc:

This extra Carbon Dioxide acts as a blanket in the earth's atmosphere

This means less heat from the sun can escape out of the atmosphere

Which causes global temperatures to rise, which then causes ice caps to melt, sea levels to rise, environments to change.

To prevent this or at least slow this down, man-made carbon dioxide emmisions need to be reduced.

  5. Causes: Humans creating excessive amounts of CO2 (carbon dioxide) and other greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. These accumulate there and trap heat.

Effects: Rising sea levels, Glacier retreat, extreme weather events, changes in timing of seasonal patterns are the main ones.

What we can do: Switch to energy efficient lighting, buy energy efficient appliances, recycle, don't burn coal, gas, or oil (releases trapped CO2) are the easiest and best ones that people choose to do.

  6. *TEN FACTS ON GLOBAL WARMING

    1. It's more than 90% sure; humans cause global warming

That was the unanimous conclusion in a recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The IPCC authors includes scientists and official government participants from 40 countries, including the US. Predictive models agree with observed temperatures only when anthropogenic effects are  included.

    2. Eleven of last 12 years were the hottest ever recorded

That's since 1850. And the high temperatures of the last 50 years are unusual for at least the last 1300 years. Global Warming is real!

       5,814,223,749,110,269

    Pounds of CO2 since 1750

    3. We are dumping about 1000 tons of CO2 per second into the atmosphere Current rates of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere are unprecedented. Carbon dioxide emissions are mostly from burning fossil fuels.

    4. Current greenhouse gas levels are far higher than for the previous 650,000 years

The current atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide is 35% greater than pre-industrial levels. Methane concentrations have increased by 250%. These dramatic increases in greenhouse gases are human-caused.

       5. Global warming produces severe weather and rising seas.

Warming oceans and melting ice have caused the sea level to rise at a rate unprecedented in the last 3000 years. Other changes associated with warming include increased incidences of drought, flooding, heat waves, and intense cyclones.

    6. Global warming effects are predicted to get much worse

By 2100, global temperatures will increase another 2 to 11 °F. Increases are predicted in heat waves, drought, intense cyclones, and loss of coastal and low areas.

    7. Global warming will affect millions of people by 2100

Loss of habitable land is predicted to result from flooding and droughts. Increases are predicted in heat-caused deaths, famines, drinking water scarcity, disease, and forest fires.

    8. 25% of the world's species could be lost from global warming effects

More than 1 million plant and animal species will vanish if global temperatures continue to rise as predicted in the next 50 years.

    9. China plans to build about one coal-fired electrical power plant per week over a period of a decade

The US currently emits more greenhouse gases than any other nation, but  China will soon pass the US  as the worst greenhouse gas emitter.

    10. It's too late to stop global warming, but we can limit it

Models show that limiting greenhouse gas emissions can prevent the most extreme scenarios for global warming.

**What causes this global warming effects?

global warming effects has and will always vary for natural reasons. However, human activities are increasing significantly the concentrations of some gases in the atmosphere, such as greenhouse gases (mainly CO2), which tend to warm the earth surface, and anthropogenic aerosols, which mostly tend to cool it.

Although more research is needed, understanding of global warming effects processes and computer models have improved, leading the IPCC to draw the following conclusion:

Most of the global warming effects over the last 50 years is likely to have been due to man-made activities.

***What global warming effects are expected for the future?

To predict the future global warming effects, several greenhouse gas emission scenarios were developed and fed into computer models.

They project for the next century that, without specific policy changes:

global mean temperature should increase by between 1.4 and 5.8°C (2.5 to 10°F).

the Northern Hemisphere cover should decrease further, but the Antarctic ice sheet should increase.

the sea level should rise by between 9 and 88 cm (3.5" to 35").

other changes should occur, including an increase in some extreme weather events.

****WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?

Since scientists have concluded that people's actions have caused global warming, our actions can also help reduce this threat. One can help by taking personal action and encouraging community action. One can contribute to this global cause by his personal actions. Just by using less amount of oil, gasoline, and coal, one can set an example for others to follow.

There are certain things in our control which can lead to increase this problem. Below are discussed some of the ways we can contribute to this global cause.

One should look after the home appliances, and electronics items, they should not consume lot more energy and be efficient enough.

While buying a vehicle, it should be kept in mind that it is highly fuel efficient.

It is not a problem for an individual to walk, or join a mass transit or take a bike instead of driving alone. One should take care of it. Even within our houses we can develop a plan to reduce electricity usage around our home.

Run our dishwasher only with a full load.

Use the energy-saving setting to dry the dishes. Don't use heat when drying. This way you can save about 200 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.

Wash clothes in warm or cold water, not hot. This would let you save about 500 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.

Clean or replace air filters as recommended. Cleaning a dirty air conditioner filter can save 5% of the energy used.

Buy energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulbs for your most-used lights. Reduce waste: Buy minimally packaged goods; choose reusable products over disposable ones; recycle. This would save you around a 1000 pounds a year.

If your car has an air conditioner, make sure you recycle its coolant whenever you have it serviced. You can save thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide each year by doing this.

Plant trees next to your home and paint your home a light color if you live in a warm climate, or a dark color in a cold climate. This would contribute about saving 5000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.

Reduce waste and promote energy-efficient measures at your school or workplace. Work in your community to set up recycling programs.

You alone can help in reducing emission of thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide. Your actions can inspire the people around you and you alone can make a huge difference! Specially in countries like US which is responsible for releasing 40,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per person every year.

Check out this site for myths and facts on global warming. Its very detailed and will give you much more insight then what I've even given you. I hope this helped and gave you what you were hoping for! God Bless!!

  7. Global Warming

Cause: Humans cause global warming by polluting the air and adding more CO2 to the air. It is caused by driving and burning fossil fuels.

Effects: Higher CO2 levels, more and more animals going extinct, stronger hurricanes, crazy weather and water shortages in some areas.

How we can help it: What you can do to stop global warming is everybody has to work together of course. You should drive less, turn out the lights in rooms you aren't using, recycle, don't litter or waste, plant trees, and industries should find an alternative instead or burning fossil fuels and instead use solar power or wind power.
