I'm dumping Sky...Too much money for too little quality I think. We 've just got a Freeview HDD recorder to replace the Sky plus box. Does anyone know if I can use the sattelite receiver dish instead of a conventional tv aerial, which the new HDD freeview box requires? I know it's a long shot, but if I can save myself £130...happy days

  1. sorry it will not work but asda have got digital aerials on offer £20 hope this helps

  2. No I have Sky and have installed a flat screen TV in my room which has freeview. And it wont work, I have run an aerial lead off my Sky dish and can watch Sky in the bedroom, but you have to watch the same on all TV's unfortunately. I am planning to have another aerial fitted though.

  3. Dumped Sky for Freeview? Silly boy. Sky and Sky+ are so advanced Freeview will always come second.

  4. No you cant, satelite signals is completly different to a freeview signal. sorry mate you need to sped some cash...

  5. No, the dish won't work with freeview.

You will need a reasonably good aerial, or very good, depending on your postcode etc.

Look at http://www.freeview.co.uk/home and enter details into "check coverage".

Try http://www.screwfix.co.uk/ and enter "aerial" into the search to give an idea of the cost, you could try this yourself. Add some of this this too http://www.screwfix.com/prods/58592/Elec...
