  1. Not sure what  "small" is ... but you would need a windmill (or wind turbines, as they are known) large enough to meet your energy demands. The more energy you need, the more energy you will need to generate.

    You could harness this to solar power as well using solar panels. They have shown these types of homes in the media, where people never get an electric bill.


  2. Could do . all you need is a relatively reliable source of wind and a little know how for electrical wiring and magnets , then an area  

    that wont be obstructed by anything .

  3. You will not get electricity you wanted from a small windmill.You need to build more than one. Moreover its installation charge is very high.Frequent wind is needed at an optimum velocity.so if no wind is available, no electricity is produced.

  5. The windmill size you would need for that much power would be anything but small.  Completely impractical.

  6. Sure, people do it all the time. The turbines aren't that small, but very efficient.
