Question:

Could you wear the north face denali jacket for skiing or snowboarding?

i recently bought this jacket online because i wanted it for a while, but it didnt fit as nicely as i hoped. i was considering using it as a fleece for snowboarding, would that be suicidal?

  1. I've seen people wearing them while skiiing and they look dumb. They're a nice jacket for street ware but not while riding.  I'm pretty sure they're not very waterproof, and when you're riding you need something really waterproof.

    If you're talking about using it for layering then it would be perfect. Layering is the best way to stay warm and from what I hear the denali jacket is pretty warm.  If you wore a first-layer shirt underneath it and a waterproof/windproof shell over it, you would be set up nicely.


  2. on warm spring days you'ld be fine with it alone...in mid-winter i would throw a shell over it....waterproofness is not that big of a concern as some others mentioned, thats more important for pants if you're a boarder---if anything windproofness might be an issue with just the fleece alone especially if you start going pretty fast

  3. I could image wearing this on a warmer day or when there isn't much deep powder, but since it isn't that waterproof and doesn't have a powder skirt I think that's all it would be really good for.
