  1. I live in Minnesota and have been a Packer fan for over 40 years.  But, NO MORE!  At least while the 3 stooges are the management of the Pack.  I guess they don't understand what "Title Town" stands for.  I've never liked the Vikings but will definitely be cheering for them twice a year from now on (I can't believe I'm saying that).  I'll be cheering for every team the Pack plays from now on.  I don't understand how they can disrespect a 3 time MVP who brought them to the NFC championship last year with one of the youngest teams (since TT got rid of most players with talent).  And then to try to BRIBE Brett to stay retired by doubling the money left on his contract.  Does TT think they'll name a street after him?  I've spent tens of thousands of dollars going to Green Bay games while Brett was there.  I will NEVER support the Packers again after this.  I just bought my dog a new collar - a NY Jets collar (the Packer one has to go - sadly).

  2. i am actually unhappy that he was traded. since i am from wisconsin i was raised by packer fans and brett favre is a very good quarterback, i think it was a major mistake to trade him to a team like that, but i might not have been that disapointed if he was traded to a better team

  3. It wasn't up to Favre. Green Bay had his rights and made the best deal they could for Green Bay. Period. What Favre wanted, other than what was required by his contract, did not enter into it.

Also, GB would neither trade him to a contender in their division, and ultimately, nor to a contender in their conference.

  4. None of those teams wanted to give up a 1st or 2nd round draft pick for a 38 year old guy who has no idea whether or not he's going to play.

  5. No.   The Packers decided where he went.

Besides, think of good teams.  They are set at QB and do not want/need   Favre.

  6. Yeah he probably could have. But he didn't.

  7. only tampa and the jets were interested in him well and the vikings but the packers didnt want to trade him within the divison

  8. There are a lot of teams in the NFL with new young QBs starting already. It would be damaging to young QB in this league to suddenly get benched after starting for a 38 year old QB. Other teams are trying to build with what they got and not take a step back.

  9. 12 million a year, plus draft pick(s).

Not too many teams could afford this, or would choose to.

The only other viable options would have been the Vikings, Bears or Ravens.  Maybe San Fransisco...  but the Vikings and Bears were not really an option and the Ravens have a lot of money tied up in the QB position...not sure why San Fran did not make an offer...their budget must be stretched as well.

Nobody else could afford or needs to afford Brett Favre.  If it was 5 or 10 years ago, 3 out of 4 teams would have made bids on him.  But he waited to announce that he was on the market until after most teams had been set on who they were going with.

If he would not have retired, but had simply passed the torch to Rodgers....h**l, maybe the Falcons would have brought him back instead of drafting Ryan.

  10. the jets better make the playoffs as a wildcard or else the jets will take heavy critism

  11. Favre has never won in Buffalo and never will!!!

  12. Yeah Jets are way over hyped as well as Thomas Jones. I bet they dont even get 8 wins. But David Harris is a monster on that team. I swear Thomas Jones needs to lay off the roids and maybe then he can run faster

  13. He wanted to go to the Vikes but wasn't allowed to. That would've made them one of the hottest teams in football.

  14. I'm surprised Baltimore didn't pursue him...no one in the afc seem like they are in a obvious need for QB....and the packers weren't going to trade him to an nfc team (cas' they dont want to see Brett in the playoffs)

  15. dude teams better than tampa nd the jets  already had qbs and were not going to trade for him.  the vikes are in the same division and  you never trade players within your own division.  you dont want to face them 2 times a year.  tampa was a play-off team last year.  the jets won 10 games 2 years ago and were a play-off team.

its the nfl teams go from 10-6 to 4-12 back to 10-6  every year.  check the jets schedule  its weak they would have won 8 with chad pennington  favre will make it 10 wins.   miami 2x, buff 2x, oak, kc, den, 49'ers, cards, rams, bengals  must be nice  having 11 games against teams that were well below .500 last year

  16. The thing is that only teams in desperate need of a QB wanted him  like Chicago, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, New York Jets and maybe some other teams...However, the Packers stated that they wouldn't let him be traded to any team within their own division (NFC NORTH) so that eliminates Chicago and Minnesota...Which leaves teams like the Jets and Bucs..  Many teams though don't want a QB who is planning on retiring within 2 years but the Jets were just tired of QB controversies and issued surronding their offense and they figure with Coles at WR and Jones at RB ..they feel like it was the missing piece to the puzzle...But this will mean the Jets will probably be decent only for like a year or two and then back to the bottom

  17. Tampa could have actualy stood a chance at taking NFC south with Brett as their QB though.
