Council workers walk out - sounds good to me - to you?

I think council workers walking out is a good thing - if they could be persuaded to stay out for good, then we could keep our local taxes and use it to get new, efficient, private companies to do their work.

Indeed, there are thousands of immigrants looking for work who could do the job just as well as these lazy overpaid oiks and for a fraction of the cost

Do you really want private companies investigating child cruelty, inspecting food shops, caring for our sick, elderly, vulnerable and disabled and being responsible for burying our dead ? Perhaps food and nutrition teacher supplied by McDonalds. Yes private companies have done remarkably well with pubic transport by increasing the fares and reducing the service. And private prisons are another rip roaring success.

In fact lets do away with democratic accountability all together and have Sir allan Sugar run the whole country

If private companies were to collect your rubbish (taking one as an example) you would be FORCED to pay whatever they demanded. If they asked for a small sum to begin with and then gradually increased it people would simply pay the extra amount (much much higher than actual costs) to avoid the hassle of having to dispose of their rubbish themselves. And there would be absolutely nothing you could do about it, because corporations are not answerable to you, unlike politicians. Either you paid, or you suffered.

That is exactly what has happened with public transport.
