I seem to have run into a situation where I have been accused of being negligent at work. I had a kid that was lost at a pool and was not in sight.

I was questioned about the situation and told an investigation

would insue.

I believe that if they find this to be true that have to report me to a child protection program. Is this true? IF so would resigning offer me any protection, I'm only 19 I really don't want this on my record. (i'm trying to teach as a career)

any other advice would be great.

  1. Sounds like they are trying to cover their own behinds.  You are 19 and you have the responsibility of children at a pool???  How many children are you caring for?    I worked for a daycare for about 1 1/2 months.  I had between 15 and 20 four year olds from 3:00 - 6:00 each evening all by myself.  Sure, there were video cameras going all the time, but that covered the daycare, not me.   I got out of there very fast as I felt it was run so poorly.    I am a teacher and am 52 years of age.  I refuse to stay in any situation that may jeopardize my teaching career.
