Question:

Counting Cards Practice?

What are some good drills, etc i can do to get good at it, I am terribly slow at it right now. Im pretty accurate but slow. and just to make sure..

2, 3, 4, 5, 6 = +1

7, 8, 9, = 0

10, K, J, Q, A = -1

Right?

And if the number is higher that means its better for me right? or is it the lower the number is?

Im 16, so i have plenty of time to learn before i actually try to do anything with it.

  1. watch 21 they have lots of tips and explain it pretty well... oh yeah and they show you what happens when you get caught...

  2. If you follow that method, then the higher the number the higher the cards will be.

So if you have 16 and the count is, say, +8, don't hit.

  3. You are right except you don't count aces with the other cards.  You don't have to but you're supposed to keep a separate count of aces in your head.  The best way to learn this is to deal cards one at a time and count out loud.  Within an hour you ought to be pretty fast.  When you get in a casino you will see that you don't actually count them one at a time after a little practice, you just look at the table and you'll see combinations that cancel each other out, etc. Practice at a $5 table or less and don't drink.

  4. I guess you just watched the movie 21. Give it up, it doesn't work anymore. Casinos are way smarter than anyone that tries to count cards. Sure, you might be able to count 52 cards, but can you count 312 cards? Give it up. It won't happen.

  5. practice more but u are good so far

  6. in response to the last answer......

you can trick counting... that would be cheating
