County Cricket: Surrey defeat Northamptonshire by an innings and 175 runs
Surrey defeated Northamptonshire with an innings and 175 runs in the four day match of County Championship Division Two at Kennington Oval, London. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northamptonshire-c824, after being follow on in their first innings, were 96 without loss in the second innings but the lower order, capitulating to the Surrey attack once again, was bundled out for only 205. Marvellous bowling from Chris Tremlett and Stuart Meaker had a major contribution in Surrey’s victory.

Elton Chigumbura, who after hitting two fours and a six had become quite fluent, was also sent back by Meaker. Chigumbura went back to the pavilion after spooning an easy catch to Lancefield fielding as the third slip, leaving Northants 140 for 7 on the board. His 49 balls stay at the crease earned the side 25 runs.
