County Cricket Updates: Pietersen searching for new team
England’s coach Andy Flower has revealed that Kevin Pietersen would have to find a new county contract before the beginning of next season. Pietersen’s contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board bounds him to be part of some county team in order to play for the national side.
Pietersen, along with three other English players, has been released by the board to participate in the Friends Provident T20 finals at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 and Hampshire declined to select Pietersen in their squad for the final games.

Since Pietersen has already hinted about his intentions of playing cricket in another county next season, Hampshire has an opinion in the best interest of the club that those players should be given a chance in the side who have so far performed well in this season.
Earlier, Coach Andy Flower had said that he has no concerns regarding Pietersen’s plunging form and itinerant status in the prelude to the upcoming Ashes. But now, he has made it clear to the batsman that the England and Wales Cricket Board wants him to be settled prior to the 2011 summer season.
