  1. C) has the greatest buffering capacity, because it has highest molarity of acid and conjugate base. Therefore, it can take the greatest concentration of added H+ or OH- before running out of capacity.

    E) q is not a state function. This is explained at the beginning of thermodynamics, when you learn E = q - w.
