Court Bartholomew pockets Women’s 200yard backstroke – Indiana vs. Virginia vs. Penn State Tri Meet
Court Bartholomew of Virginia-VA pocketed gold medal of the Women’s 200yard backstroke at the 2012 Indiana vs. Virginia vs. Penn State Tri Meet in Bloomington, Indiana on Friday, November 16.
The 18-year-old Bartholomew spoiled the party of her opponents in the 200yard discipline and reached the finishing blockade for gold medal.
She experienced strong resistance from Amy L Modglin of Penn State-MA but with her gruelling efforts, she managed to outperform her over the finishing end. Bartholomew remained just a stroke ahead of her following swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal with a wonderful timing of 1 minute and 55.33 seconds.
Bartholomew was followed by Modglin, who stayed 0.35 seconds slower and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 55.68 seconds for silver medal.
Modglin was traced by Cynthia Pammett of Hoosiers, who stayed almost two seconds slower from her former finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 57.61 seconds.
Pammett was chased by Caroline E Kenney of Virginia-VA, who stayed 1.15 seconds apart and settled on the finishing end as fourth fastest swimmer by producing a time of 1 minute and 58.76 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Ellen Williamson of Virginia-VA, who stayed 0.31 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 59.07 seconds.
Williamson was traced by Dorina Szekeres of Hoosiers, who was 0.40 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer by completing her race in a time of 2 minutes and 00.47 seconds for sixth position.
Seventh spot of the race was obtained by Justine A Ress of Hoosiers, who stayed 0.53 seconds slower and ended her race in a time of 2 minutes and 01.00 seconds.
Ress was traced by Katei A Rowe of Penn State-MA, who was half body length slower from her preceding swimmer and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 01.59 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Bartholomew was contented with her gold finish and told that she would continue her struggle in order to accomplish the same at forthcoming events.
