Has anybody been through a court process for driving with no insurance. I have car insurance on mine but drove my boyfriends to the local shop and got caught.

So im off to court next month, just wondering how you did at court, what the outcome of your case was and any hints or tips as how to get minimul punishment. I heard if i can scrub up a good excuse and write a really good letter of why i need my car (business, work in community) i may avoid a ban. (have previous 6points on license).

  1. If you got insurance to drive your car, the policy may cover you to drive another car with the owners consent. I dont know about points but you will get a fine IF found guilty.

  2. Get back to your insurance company and check with them, you might be covered to drive your car and any other car, your boyfriend need to say that he loaned you the car, if you're covered so you will get off easy if not I'm afraid you will pay a fine.

  3. Check with your agent and see if your policy covers your driving someone elses car.

If it does then use this as your defense. Yes, the car you were driving was uninsured, but you as a driver had coverage.

  4. 6 points + 6points = BAN.

  5. You could have killed somebody and left a family without a father or mother and they would have been unable to claim financial compensation. I hope they crush your car.

  6. i can speak with personal knowledge on this subject....i went to court and i had my bag of tricks with me...ready to outsmart the judge and the whole Michigan legal system....well i lied and b.s.and fooled them all .........and ill be out of jail in another 68 days (with good behavior).......  but.......SERIOUSLY GIRLFRIEND.......     contact a lawyer before your court date....you take a risk of your license being suspended and the judge doesn't care about your job or how your going to get there!

  7. you dont even sound like your sorry for driving without insrrance, i think you should be sent to prison, just think what would have happened if you had an accident, or killed some one,

i have no pity for you, and you should thank your lucky stars that i am not a judge at your court hearing, as you would be going to prison and a ban from driving
