Court orders Floyd Mayweather not to contact ex-girlfriend and sons
A Las Vegas court has issued an order prohibiting boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. from contacting his former girlfriend or the two sons they share.
Last September, Josie Harris, Mayweather's ex-girlfriend, called 911 claiming that the boxer had assaulted her and had stolen her iPhone. Mayweather, who allegedly
threatened to kill the woman, was said to have thrown his former girlfriend on the floor.
Threats against ex-girlfriend and children
Mayweather, who was at Harris's home on the morning of September 9 to drop off "tooth fairy" money for his daughter, argued with his ex-girlfriend hours later
over her relationship with another man. The undefeated boxer reportedly told Harris that he would her and her boyfriend "disappear."
Mayweather was said to have also threatened his two sons. The 33-year old champion allegedly told his sons that he would beat them if they left the house or
called 911.
After being arrested, Mayweather was charged with four felonies and four misdemeanors. Mayweather was also slapped with one felony robbery count, two felony
counts of coercion, misdemeanor counts for domestic battery and harassment and one grand larceny count for a criminal complaint filed in a Nevada court.
Mayweather, one of the most popular boxers today, currently holds a perfect 41-0 record with 25 knockouts. The boxer, who has the nickname "Money", earned a
$20 million payday last May in a victory against "Sugar" Shane Mosley.
Mayweather was not required to appear before Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Diana Sullivan for a hearing scheduled on Tuesday. Sullivan slapped Mayweather with
a $31,000 bail amount.
If convicted on all charges, Mayweather may get a a maximum sentence of 34 years in prison. The welterweight is scheduled to come back to court in January 24.
