Courtney Weaver wins Women’s 200m butterfly title - 2011 YMCA Long Course Nationals
Flint MI’s Courtney Weaver put up a stunning effort to win the Women’s 200m butterfly meet on day five of the 2011 YMCA Long Course Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, July 29.
The session of the meet conducted the Women’s 200m butterfly meet, where Weaver took home the gold medal because of her scintillating splash in a time of 2 minutes and 15.72 seconds. Meanwhile, Astrid Swensen of North Shore secured the silver medal with
a winning time of 2 minutes and 16.84 seconds, while Nancy Hu of Sarasota earned the bronze medal with a time of 2 minutes and 19.28 seconds.
Caitlin Casazza of Northwest finished fourth in 2 minutes and 19.35 seconds, while Emily Slabe of Countryside settled fifth in 2 minutes and 20.04 seconds. Amanda Lucia of Gr Holyoke captured sixth spot in a time of 2 minute 20.93 seconds, whereas, Morgan
Carr of Huntington was placed seventh in 2 minutes and 21.08 seconds. Bailie Monahan of Rappahannock settled eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 21.20 seconds.
In the meantime, the Women’s 200m butterfly B Final was clinched by Kelsey Frantz of Sarasota with a winning time of 2 minutes and 20.37 seconds, whereas, Amanda McNulty of Middle Tyger wound up second in 2 minutes and 20.58 seconds. Hannah James of Sarasota
rounded out the top three in 2 minutes and 21.21 seconds, while Elizabeth McDonald of Cheshire finished fourth in 2 minutes and 21.84 seconds. Morgan Perrotti of Sun Coast was placed fifth in a time of 2 minutes and 23.24 seconds.
Subsequently, Sage Maggi of Gr Holyoke was placed sixth in 2 minutes and 23.30 seconds, while Charlotte Ward of Middle Tyger grabbed seventh spot in 2 minutes and 23.52 seconds. Toireasa Rafferty Mil of North Shore snared eighth place in 2 minutes and 24.06
seconds.
Finally, Sydney Bornstein of Hamilton Area earned the first place honours in the Women’s 200m butterfly C Final with a winning time of 2 minutes and 22.86 seconds. Emma McKinley of Piedmont wound up second in 2 minutes and 23.27 seconds, while Rachel Cortright
of Ridgewood settled third in a time of 2 minutes and 23.35 seconds. Sara Beth Drake of Middle Tyger finished fourth in 2 minutes and 23.51 seconds, while Spence Atkins of Sarasota earned fifth spot in 2 minutes and 24.06 seconds.
Jazzi Cooper of Wilton finished sixth in 2 minutes and 25.22 seconds. Jacque Garcia of Sarasota was placed seventh in 2 minutes and 25.59 seconds, while Siobhan Goodman of Ridgewood settled eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 25.98 seconds. Furthermore, Tori
