This Saturday I need to get to HH from Coventry, on the train. I've found from Warwick Parkway-London Marylebone it's about 2 hours and only £17, then I get on the tube to Victoria-HH. All a bit of a fuss really so I'd like to know the quickest and also cheapest journey on the train to the lovely Haywards....thank you :)

  1. When you arrive at Marylebone you need to get to Victoria Station for the Haywards Heath train. Either take a number 2 bus from outside Marylebone Station to Victoria, or the Underground Bakerloo Line to Oxford Circus then the Victoria Line to Victoria. From Victoria Southern Trains run every 30 minutes to Haywards Heath and take 45 minutes. You will probably find it is cheaper to buy a through ticket from Warwick Parkway to Haywards Heath via London to also include the Underground section in London. Check with the ticket office at Warwick Parkway. You are correct that Chiltern Railways walk on fares from Warwick are much cheaper than Virgin's from Coventry although if you had a railcard you get get a one third reduction. www.epicsavings.co.uk and Virgin's advance purchase fares are often very cheap. www.virgintrains.co.uk

  2. i dont have a clue....

    but i luv ur pic..

    ur hot..lol

  3. Actually, you have chosen a rather roundabout way of making the journey, as it can be done with just one change. You don't say the time you are travelling, but on looking at the www.thetrainlinecom there are Virgin services from Coventry every 2 hours (56 minutes past the even hours) which stop at Watford Junction. There you can catch the Southern Watford Junction -Brighton service (about 20 minutes wait) which will get you to HH in about 2hrs45mins from Coventry. There are standard singles available on the 12.56 for £32.10
