Is this a good acting cover leter?

Please accept my photos and resume for possible consideration of future theatrical and commercial representation. I currently am contracted with The Young Agency, and Movie Work Now Casting. I will relocate if needed.

Thank you very much for your time,

Joseph Ganea

  1. It's overly formal and smacks of amateurishness.

If you are looking for representation, mentioning your current representation is not a good idea.

Are you sending these out of state? What type of experience do you have?  Are you really planning to relocate just because an agency might sign you?  Are you an adult or a minor?

Unless the pix and resumes are spectacular, a cover letter like that and its accompanying materials would land in the Circular File.

    EDIT:

I just found your resume online.  You have a great look. Stay in Arizona, get some non-elementary school experience and THEN do a mailing.

If your friends and church buddies are the only ones who think you're great at the 20 or so dialects you claim as part of your repertoire, TAKE THEM OFF YOUR RESUME.

With a credit listed as "Princess & pee", no one will ever take you seriously.

You seem like a bright and motivated young man.  Keep working at it, don't get ahead of yourself, and I'll expect to see your name in the opening credits someday.

    Good luck.
