  1. Go to microsoft.com. It has free cover letter/resume templates to use.

  2. try google

  3. well as you know you have to put your address on the cover and then you name zip code the person your sending it to

  4. no idea, i am happy to get these two points ..lolz

  5. introduce yourself and maybe you should begin mentioning some awards you may have gotten.. 10 points plzzzzzzzzzz

  6. I'm going to assume that you are using a cover letter with your resume.

A cover letter is a "short" letter introducing yourself (as you said) telling them a bit about you, what qualifies you for the position you are applying for.  Just remember to keep it short, sweet and tp the point.

Here's a link to some sample formats. You can always change the wording to fit your needs.

  7. A list of "qualities" isn't all that useful for a cover letter.

Cover letter is a short, succinct introduction to yourself.  It tells the reader why they should bother looking at your resume.  It should be short - three short paragraphs.  It should be a business-format letter, meaning in the upper right your address, phone and the date, just below and left-justified the recipient's address, and then:

Dear <name>: or To whom it may concern:  -- note the colon, not a comma.  Also no abbreviations, so spell out state names.  It is BEST to have a Dear <name> since that shows you took the time to research who would be reading your cover letter.

Paragraph one: introduce yourself, and why are you interested in/excited about the job.  (I was pleased to learn about a security job opportunity at XYZ High School.  Because of my experience with security firms in the past, I think I would be an excellent match for this position.)

Paragraph two: why you are a good match for the job, based on the job description and your qualifications.  Use your "tagwords" here but be sincere.  Those descriptions alone won't land you the job, your interview and experience will.

Paragraph three: you look forward to meeting with them, and how you will follow-up on your application (optional).  Thank them for their time (NOT OPTIONAL).

(All three of these paragraphs should be short.  Don't fill them with BS, the reader will know it's BS and just ignore the whole thing.)

    Signature.

    Good luck!

  8. Dear Security Manager;

I'm writing this letter as an application for Campus Security Guard at Whittier High.  I became aware of this position through your July 24th ad in the Gotham City Herald.

My tutor experience has given me a good understanding of teenagers.  I enjoy working with and around students of this age and I'm anxious to learn more about the position.

I've attached my resume.  Thank you for your time and consideration.  I hope to hear from you soon.

    Sincerely,

    I. M. Hired
