Question:

Covering a tattoo WELL with make-up?

I'm doing a marketing event where I have to dress up as a doll. Don't laugh, I'm a broke teacher paying for grad school, so every dollar helps. Anyway, I have a tattoo smack on the left side of my shin that I got when I was a teenager. The problem is, I'll be wearing stockings, and the lovely tat cannot show. Any good tips on covering it? I know the stockings will help hide it some. Good make-up brand names would help as well!

  1. Dermablend, sweetie.  It's what ALL the drag queens use to cover stubble.  It even covers SCARS!  hit it with a hair dryer first to heat it up.  It will go on ALOT smoother.  You can find it at any pharmacy makeup counter or in any department store.

  2. I highly recommend Dermablend's makeup concealers.  They actually make it to cover disfigurations, birthmarks, tattoos, and scars.  It's thick, so I don't recommend it for everyday wear, but it's perfect for what you are looking for.  I used it when I was a makeup artist, and it covers up insanely well.  Dust it with powder after applying it to set it and keep it from "melting" off.  Check out the site to find the right shade for your skin!
