Cowboys' injury list grows as they prepare to host Dolphins this Sunday – NFL News
As Dallas Cowboys prepare to host Miami Dolphins on Thursday at the Cowboys Stadium in the week 12 encounter of the National Football League current season, the addition of names on the injury list is becoming a cause of concern
for them.
Four of the Cowboys’ starters, fullback Tony Fiammetta, cornerback Mike Jenkins, free safety Gerald Sensabaugh and wide receiver Miles Austin are expected to miss the game as none of them showed up on the practice session on Tuesday.
Cowboys are on a three-game winning streak and are leading the National Football Conference East division with an average of 398.8 yards (277.0 passing yards and 121.8 rushing yards) per game. They have a strong chance to enter
the playoffs if they successfully stretch their present streak, which can be affected if their star players remain injured.
Cornerback Jenkins and wide receiver Austin are suffering from hamstring injuries. Jenkins had to leave the game against Philadelphia Eagles in the second half during the week eight game. He is yet to play a game after that. Austin
was injured in the week nine when his team faced Seattle Seahawks.
Safety Gerald Sensabaugh received foot injury in the last week game against Washington Redskins and it is believed that he will take time to recover and will not make it to the starting line-up against Dolphins. However, the player
has hoped that he will be able to recover and participate in the game.
The other player who is doubtful for the game is fullback Tony Fiammetta who is ill and the cause of his illness in not determined yet.
“He's been sick the last week or so, so we are just kind of attending to those symptoms as much as anything else," Cowboys’ coach Jason Garrett said about Tony. "We are hopeful he can be around as soon as possible, but we will
continue to test him to see how he's doing to get him back to full strength.
"It's a short week, so it will be interesting to see if he can progress enough to play in this ballgame," the coach added.
Meanwhile, the coach is preparing for the game with the available players and is set to retain the lead in the division.
