Cowboys’ Miles Austin hopeful against Cardinals, says owner Jerry Jones – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys’ owner and general manager Jerry Jones said on Tuesday that injured wide receiver Miles Austin is recovering fast from hamstring injury and the player might be able to make it to the final line-up against Arizona
Cardinals in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
However, Jones also said that the management will not take any decision in hurry and it will be ensured that Austin is hundred per cent fit before he takes the field. The owner/general manager informed that he had a chat with the
wide receiver who said that he would be able to play on Sunday.
"I do, but I don't know because I saw him yesterday and he was moving around real well," Jones said while talking. "(Austin) said he could go Sunday, but we'll see how this week goes along.”
Cowboys have a strong chance of making it to the playoffs by topping the National Football Conference East division by the end of the regular season. They have five more games to play in the season, and the team might play more
games if it qualifies for the postseason.
Jones does not want to exert pressure on Austin and is up for giving him the due time to recover properly so his services could be utilised in the next important games.
"We don't want to push that, because we've got a lot of football ahead of us. By the same token, we could sure use him. We've missed him."
Austin has suffered from hamstring injuries throughout this season. He missed two games at the start of the season due to left hamstring injury. During the week-nine game against Seattle Seahawks, Austin received right hamstring
injury, which has forced him out of the next three games.
Austin has missed five games this season and played only six in which he has 28 receives for 403 yards with an average of 14.4 yards per receive. He also has four touchdowns to his credit.
During his absence, Laurent Robinson replaced him and became a regular starter. Robinson has played nine games this season and started four of them. He has 38 receives for 554 yards for seven touchdowns.
