Cowboys’ Miles Austin out while Felix Jones and Gerald Sensabaugh doubtful for Thursday – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver will sit out on Thursday as his team hosts Miami Dolphins in the week 12 encounter of the National Football League current season at the Cowboys Stadium, it was confirmed on Wednesday.
During the game against Seattle Seahawks in the week nine, Austin received right hamstring injury and was unable to play the next two games. Owing to left hamstring injury, he had already missed two games at the start of the season,
and now will miss his fifth game of the season on Sunday.
This season, Miles has played six games in which he managed 403 yards for 28 receives and four touchdowns. It is expected that he might take one more week to recover and will be available in the week 13 battle against Arizona Cardinals.
Meanwhile, free safety Gerald Sensabaugh who hurt his foot last week in the game against Washington Redskins is placed on the list of questionable players. The player hoped that he would be fit enough to play the game and said
that the training staff was helping him well.
“Treatment has been going well and I'm feeling like I can pull it out," Sensabaugh tweeted on Wednesday night. "Thumbs up to the training staff."
In the absence of Sensabaugh, Barry Church is expected to replace him. After the Wednesday’s practice session, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan appreciated Church’s performance and said that he would do a good job if Sensabaugh does
not recover.
"He's really coming on," defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said of Church following Wednesday's practice. "So we're fine with that. Obviously, Gerald is a huge part of our defense and our plans but Barry has really been coming on
and doing a good job, so we're excited about him. We know he'll do a fine job."
Cowboys’ management is optimistic about Felix Jones who is also is recovering from high ankle sprain. The player was injured in the week six and has not been able to play any game after that. However, there are strong chances that
he will play against Dolphins.
Cowboys have lost only four games this season and carry a three-game winning streak at their backs as they face Dolphins. With an average of 398.8 yards (277.0 passing yards and 121.8 rushing yards) per game, they are leading the
National Football Conference East division and have a strong chance to enter the playoffs.
