Cowboys’ Tony Romo scheduled to have X-rays on injured collarbone
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is scheduled to undergo X-rays on his injured collarbone on Monday. The results may reveal when we can expect to see Romo back on the field, with the sudden resurgence
of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are 2-2 with John Kitna as their signal caller.
Romo was scene throwing short passes during the Cowboys’ warm-ups on Sunday before their game against the Detroit Lions which is encouraging news. The initial diagnosis for Romo’s recovery from his broken
collarbone which occurred on October 25 against the New York Giants was set at six to eight weeks.
Team owner Jerry Jones hinted that the X-rays on Romo, will only serve as medical diagnostic and that the Pro Bowl quarterback will get the final say on whether or not he shall return this season.
"We didn't think an X-ray or X-rays would help us make this decision," Jones said. "It's going to be how it's feeling." It has been five weeks since Romo was last seen under the bright lights, but his
recovery is going smoothly.
If Romo fells ready to compete, Cowboy fans may see their beloved Romo under centre for possibly the final two regular-season games against the Arizona Cardinals and in their annual showdown against the
Philadelphia Eagles.
At 3-7, Dallas is last in the NFC East and almost guaranteed to miss the post-season. They dug themselves a hole early in the season and found themselves faced with insurmountable odds. With the 2010 season
a complete bust, there is no rush for Romo to jump back on the field. It's also unclear as to whether Romo would even be able to jump right back into the starting spot with Kitna playing so well.
The remaining six games left on their schedule should mainly serve as practice for Dallas as they look to continue to tweak a few elements under interim coach Jason Garrett and build momentum down the
stretch.
