Cowboys’ defensive end Marcus Spears ready to face ex-teammate Tashard Choice – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys’ defensive end Marcus Spears is eager to face his ex-teammate Tashard Choice who is now a running back for Washington Redskins as the two sides meet in the week 11 encounter of the National Football League current
season.
Choice was selected by Cowboys in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was waived off in October 2011 and picked up by Redskins. He has 63 field goals, eight touchdowns and 250 carries for 1,139 yards with an average of 4.6 yards per attempt
to his credit. He is yet to play a game for his new franchise.
Spears said that he was happy for Choice who has found a new team for himself and that Choice is just like his little brother.
"It’ll be funny. We can’t wait to see him. We’re going to try to smack him," Spears said jokingly. "I’m glad he got an opportunity to get on with somebody and continue his career. I’m proud of him. He’s like a little brother to
me, so it’ll be fun to see him. But he knows in between the clock it’s football. He knows we’ll be trying to hit him, and he’ll be trying to get away," he added.
Meanwhile, speculation continues to grow about Choice’s participation in the match. At the time when he joined Redskins, he was recovering from hamstring injury, but now he feels completely fit.
Just like Spears, he is also keen to face his ex-teammates and make his debut this Sunday. He said that he feels there is a 100 per cent chance that he will make it to the final line-up against Cowboys.
However, Redskins’ coach Mike Shanahan has different opinion and said that he cannot confirm that the player would make his debut for Redskins against Cowboys. He was of the view that Choice was not completely fit when he joined
the franchise, but, he said, the running back was feeling more comfortable and was doing well.
“He’s biting at the bit to get going. I think there’s a big upside with him. But after a week of practice, I can’t tell you for sure,” the coach said.
