Cox Digital cable with Tivo without Digital Box?

I noticed that with Tivo you can go to any channel number. However since I don't have a digital box I was wondering if I order a Package like MLB extra Innings could I do it without paying to get a digital Box. Thanks

Hi David,

No that won't work. TiVo has a built in tuner that is true but it can only receive channels that your provider is supplying to you.

If you are only trying to bypass the box and not the fees TiVo series 3 will do that. It takes two "cablecards" that allow the TiVo tuners to provide video without the external cable company box BUT only on the TV that TiVo is hooked to. You would still need a cable box for any other TVs. The cablecards are authorized by your cable provider to receive the channels you pay for.
