  1. I assume your talking about rowing or crewing?

    If so, Try to be energetic and charismatic.

    Also try learning simple drum rhythms and cadence calling.

    Also. Pick a really fast crew that likes one another. If possible.

    And lastly KNOW where your going. Not where you've been.

    It's something to think about.


  2. You have to control and coach the oars, mostly with when they get their oar in and out of the water in time with the stroke....

    and if they have a habit of leaning one way or another during the stroke..rowers HATE having the coxs'n calling "Two You're Late" on every stroke  so do it maybe  four times  a minute till they get the idea.....

    use the rudder as little as possible, and only when the oars are in the water and pulling.....the rudder badly upsets the balance of a shell and drops the side you're turning towards down low, making it hard for the oars(wo)men to get their oars out of the water....not something they like !

    So you have to be looking and planing at least a hundred yards ahead...
