Bolton Wanderers manager, Owen Coyle, admits that they only have themselves to blame for their loss against Tottenham and that the last two games are must-win if the side want to remain in the top flight.
The Barclays Premier League has just two matches to go before the conclusion of the 2011/12 season and a number of teams find themselves in the relegation dogfight. Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic are in danger of dropping in the relegation
with Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 looking to get out of it before the end of the season.
Bolton had the chance to go above QPR last night as they played their game in hand against Champions League hopefuls, Tottenham Hotspur. Even a draw would have lifted Owen Coyle’s men out of the relegation zone but it wasn’t to be as Tottenham managed to
score three goals in a matter of minutes to give themselves a three-goal cushion with the scores level at 1-1.
Coyle felt that his side were to blame for letting the match slip out of their grasp. He said, “We all know how it got away from us. It was very self-inflicted I have got to say”
As for the match itself, the Bolton manager was pleased with the performance his side put in before they lost the lead later on in the match.
“We scored a great goal and could have added to it. We were in control of the game at that point and I’m disappointed with the goal we lost to make it 2-1.”
Bolton now face West Bromwich Albion this Sunday in the Barclays Premier League and Owen Coyle’s men will be looking for a result that will send them to safety and reiterated his belief that the club had the belief and the ability to end the season on a
high.
“We know we have enough to go and win our last two games and that’s what we have to focus on.” Explained the Bolton manager, before pulling a ‘Djibril Cisse’ and stating the obvious when he said, “We have to make sure we’re fresh and ready to go against
West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.”
