  1. I liked the food at Senor Frogs. Make sure you check out the good jewelry and opals they have. When i was there last year we rented a jeep for he day and found it easy to explore the island on our own for a while. If your not interested in that you can always walk around. Language won't be a major concern as almost everyone speaks english as well as spanish. Have a Great Cruise!

  2. Don't swim.

  3. I recommend Mr. Sanchos! Clean pool and beach area and it is free to get in, they just ask that you eat there but the food is good and reasonable.

There is horse back riding and atv tours along with massages on the beach. I can't say enough about this place other than the best part is that it is not insane with cruise ship people like the other beaches are.

  4. LOL...I think she was being sarcastic...and she meant don't swim to get to cozumel.

I have been there a few times and always go back to Paradise Beach!

Great food great drinks, great staff and lots do do for everyone.

  5. Taxis are per cab, not per person.

Some snorkel areas can have sharp rocks. Take water shoes. If you're concerned about germs, you may want to take your own snorkel gear.

We enjoy Paradise Beach. Decent chairs, free except for the cab to get there and a $10 pp fee if you want to use the water toys. IMO, a lot better than Chankanaab, especially the beach chairs....

  6. Cozumel is my favorite island.  It is wonderful.

I really don't have any words to the wise.  After all some ports (like Belize) are great places to go by very very poor.  Cozumel however could be Miami.  They have a Walmart and a Sam's Club.  You get off the port and are right in the mall.  Great prices on perfume and liquor.  Lots to do.

Personally I take a cab to Chanakaab Park (check the spelling on that one).  Last time I took a shore excursion and went kayaking and snorkeling.  Great snorkeling.  This time I'm just taking a cab there.

It's a great island for shopping but you can easily just walk around and feel safe there.

  7. I was there 2 years , we toke a shore excerion it was good. we don't swim, we were in a coach [bus] for couple of hours.

  8. My fiance & I went to Cozumel on a cruise 3 years ago. We really liked it! We recommend Mr. Sancho's beach. Go there early in the morning. We went there around 7am.. absolutely NO ONE was on the beach! It was SO beautiful and peaceful.

The in-town section is a little run down, but the shops by the port are pretty nice.

  9. A lot to do there.  There are alot of private beach clubs.  Mr. Sancho's is one of them and it is a good place. You do not need to sign up for a shore excursion, you can jump into a cab and hit any of the beach clubs or the national park. The cabs should have posted set fees for loctions.  The water is clean and you can rent water sports eq or sign up for snorkle tours right from the pier or from many of the beaches.   There is alot of shopping there.  Prices aren't that great though, don't expect huge savings.  However when shopping offer 50% of what the posted price is and go from there.  The places to eat are safe and the drinking water is safe (unlike other areas of Mexico). As far as sharks, you won't see one unless you sign up for a snorkle / dive trip and even then it would be very unlikely that you would see one.  But if you did, it would be a non agressive type. There are other tours like dune buggy tours etc that go to the other side of the island.  They are a blast, not sure though if I would do that while toking around 3 kids though.  Chances are you are looking for something cheap and low stress.
