We are going to stay at cozumel palace and we want to rent a car for a few days. I have looked at some places but most say you have to be 25. We will both be 22. Anyone know of any places we could rent from?

And any info on Cozumel Palace or activites would be great!

  1. If you can drive a stick then you have plenty of rentals to choose from.My husband and I are going this May and are renting from Isis. Their cars are cheap around 35 a day with all INSURANCE included! and i don't think you have to be 25 but email them and ask. I have reserved and won't be 25 till March so don't think its a problem. I read lots of great post about them on tripadvisor and people all recommended them to me. They say they are very nice people to do business with.Hope you guys have fun!

  2. Be careful!!!! I was just in Cozumel for the 1st time in December and we went snorkeling. As soon as I jumped into the water I felt something sting me. My husband was laughing and said nothing was around me. But I kept getting stung over and over again. Apparently I was not the only person because they cut our snorkeling tour short, it was only15 minutes long. Getting back into the boat I kept getting stung. Talking to some of the other women on board they got stung too. They then dropped us off at a beach and I was swelling up all over. I took a shower but that didn't help. I went and saw a medic and he told me "When yellow fish fell threaten the release a poison toxin in the water". He then took some vinegar and sprayed me down with it, and it finally took the sting away. Its funny NOBODY wanted to talk about it, No one from the snorkeling tour, or the cruise ship we were on. They want to sell their tours, so no one warns you about these things. So HAVE FUN!!!!

  3. You don't really need to rent a car; there are taxis available at the front door.  They also rent jeeps right outside the door; don't know how old you need to be however.  Also if you do any of their organized tours (Tulum, Coba, Chankanaab, glass-bottom boat) the transportation is included.  You can walk about 3-4 blocks to pier area and downtown; very safe.  How much time do you want to spend running about?

    Go to the Palace website:

    http://www.palaceresorts.com

Choose Cozumel Palace, there is a tab for tours; again choose Coz Palace.

  4. If you have never looked at tripadvisor.com then you should! They have a million reviews of Cozumel Palace, Cozumel activities and a forum where you can ask questions and people that live in Coz or just travel there alot will answer them. I love tripadvisor it has helped me alot in planning my vacation. Hope this helped some. Have a great time!
